A London theatre company
We can, we must, we shall be heard.
We make theatre about the things people are not supposed to say, and try to make an audience laugh while it is being said.
Our next production, I’m not little, I’m Barbara, a solo play about surviving domestic abuse, opens in north London in March 2027.
Consonant Productions was founded by Barbara Mariposa in 2026. The name carries both meanings: the sounds the throat shapes, and what it is to be in agreement with someone.
We are interested in work that is funny about serious things, that uses music and live performance, and that gives an audience somewhere to go afterwards.
How one woman overcomes a lifetime of misogynistic silencing and abuse to rediscover her own unique voice. An uplifting story of resistance and uncrushable spirit.
Written and performed by Barbara Mariposa, a trained actor with stage and screen credits, and directed by JodyAnne Fletcher Richardson, who has spent two decades in London theatre.

We read unsolicited scripts, and we are particularly interested in writing that is funny about something serious.
